Overview:
On the 9th of June 2023, the Tahzib Educational and Development Organization for Afghanistan TEDOA, cordially managed an intensive seminar that was highly significant to the title “Management of Periodic Challenges of Youth.” This seminar was exclusively designed for the youth of the Kabul Province to control and eradicate the various problems with which the younger generation is confronted with. It is an example of both unfounded optimism and ignorance of the situation in Afghanistan; However, this seminar testifies to the continued focus on the promotion of youth development within the framework of the TEDOA initiative.
More than half of the population of Afghanistan ‘s capital city, Kabul, is under the age of 25, making youth a key demographic in the city. It is imperative to understand their experiences and needs in order to create appropriate policies and programs.
Building upon this scenario, the academic seminar was conducted in the middle of Kabul and attracted a great deal of young people ready to discuss the future. This programme focused on recognizing the basic areas of disturbance for the youth and then creating methods for dealing with the instabilities which come at specific intervals. In the capacity of delivering feasible and actionable strategies and interventions, TEDOA was designed to provide the youth with the ways in which they could manage aspects of their personal and career successfully.
Understanding Youth Needs:
The seminar itself was aimed at identifying and outlining the basic needs of the Postgraduate youth in Kabul Province; This segment focused on calling to promote and encourage everyone to go to school, get, help mental health, advice to find a job and get a social life.
Managing Educational Challenges:
Education is widely recognized as a central process for preparing youths for future of any society. During the seminar, such issues as poverty, violation of the rights of Afghan youth to education, financial resources for education, and the necessity to increase the use of the modern educational technologies were debated. The following interventions for educationally disadvantaged individuals and groups were suggested: offering scholarship programs, using online learning interventions, and community-based education interventions.
Mental Health and Well-being:
In light of the emerging need for equal health, a special session on the promotion of mental health was introduced and held during the deferral of the seminar. This is apparent in character discussions of stressors so as to obtain helpful advice on how to manage stress, anxiety and depression, and where and when to get help.
Career Development and Employment:
Given the high unemployment rates escalating within Afghanistan especially among the youth, topics of career enhancement and employment were concerning to the seminar. Experts and professionals of career fields provided information on the current employment situation, educational opportunities for skilled occupations, and business initiatives. Priorities were established towards skill enhancement for the contingents and the need to be employment ready in the modern world.
Social and Civic Engagement:
listening to people, organizing seminar and making them aware about social and civic responsibilities making them understand about the youth productivity in transforming the communities. Some topics covered were the careers of volunteers, leadership development, and information sharing on corporate citizenship and responsibilities.
Outcomes and Future Initiatives:
Speakers during the “Management of Periodic Challenges of Youth” seminar took their questions and offered the participants firsthand advice and guidance during the question and answer session that characterized the climax of the seminar. This was achieved through the positive responses from the attendees toward the seminar, which pointed out the need for more support and actions.
In its communique, it unveiled future programs that would meet the Youth needs and necessities in Afghanistan. There will be improvements in our programs that are geared in enhancing employees and career development, providing help in addressing mental issues at workplace and ensuring the establishment of work and life stability.
